Day 13 — A fictional book

Hmmm….I guess Wicked would be a great fictional book, but that would be WAY too cliche now since Wicked is a major production at the moment, and still is. There are quite a few fictional books that I love but I think the one that really sticks to me is either A Wrinkle In Time, The Phantom Tollbooth, or The Reptile Room

What I really liked about A Wrinkle In Time was how they some scientific way to travel through time. It’s called a wrinkle simply because it is supposed to wrinkle the path between present and future, or present and past, wherever you are. I loved how it was quite eerie for being a children’s book. Sorry for those who love Harry Potter, but I just never got into picking up the books, ha ha. I’m more of a movie- watcher for this series (don’t hate me).

As for The Phantom Tollbooth, it’s quite the same as the last book I mentioned. Very eerie, but has a lighter tone to it throughout the story. It’s very creative and the illustrations match perfectly what the book is depicting. I know these are all adolescent novels and such, but I just feel that the creative appeal back then was far better than supernatural stories that are happening today.

(which reminds me I’ve never gotten into Chronicles of Narnia either…)

Lastly, The Reptile Room. This book is actually part of the Series of Unfortunate Events. During the story for this film (or books) this is the part where the three (now orphans) children try to find a place to stay since they’re parents were murdered in a fire. During their stay at their Uncle Monty’s house, Uncle Monty had a room dedicated to reptiles and the like. He was studying them and was soon going to travel to Paris to study some more reptiles.

Anyway, I just found it interesting when I was kid and I still do! It’s a different concept from other children’s books. I also enjoyed the movie very much so…I would recommend reading this =) And if you don’t find it as entertaining as I did, then sobeit…lol.

Have a wonderful Sunday!
