I saw someone post a tattoo of this very thing not long ago. I’ve had this number written above my desk for years, as I’ve always had a problem with self doubt. The book Oh, The Places You’ll Go was one that I remember reading in high school and now we read to our kids. I got it on my wrist because I’m a marathon runner, and my right arm is where I wear my running watch. When I get tired and want to quit, I have a habit of repeatedly looking at my watch. This way, when I really start to doubt, I’ll be reminded that “Will you succeed? Yes, you will indeed. (98 3/4% guaranteed.)” I was a child in an emotionally abusive home and I have worked hard to believe I’m worth anything. I want nothing more for my kids than for them to know their own success is in their hands and they are worth and deserving of getting it. Thank you to the poster who posted a similar tattoo not long ago, you have helped me in my own healing.

How sweet =)

Tattoos…

So I’m really considering a
number of tattoos that I want to get =)

Some include lyrics to a song

a Japanese Kanji character
(that is also in Latin and Tagalog made into a symbol of sorts)

a pirate tattoo from a video game

a certain character from a video game series
that I’ve been playing since I was 4

a specific weapon from another video game series
that I’ve been playing since I was about 7 or 8

and the national flower from my native country <— I need inspiration to design that, I’d like it to look pretty unique =)

This tattoo is from Harry Potter. The quote is “Slowly, very slowly, he sat up, and as he did so he felt more alive and more aware of his own living body than ever before. Why had he never appreciated the miracle he was, brain and nerve and bounding heart?” It’s right after Harry sees into Snape’s memories and when he finally understands what he must do; his last thoughts as he gathers up the courage to go die is that he should have appreciated just simply being alive. I really like that sentiment, and I really love the lessons Rowling taught on not fearing death. I got the tattoo done by the wonderful Matt Lutsch in Eugene, Oregon at The Parlor Tattoo.

Freakin’ awesome.

My best friend and I finally got our friendship tattoos. Originally we wanted “Two Sisters” by Audrey Kawasaki, but our tattoo artist thought it would be cool to make a few changes. My best friend’s tattoo is smaller, on her leg, and in different colors.
Our tattoos were done by Ian Bradley of Indelible Creations, Yigo, GUAM.

I love this tattoo =)
